May 1, 2024 - Section 6 Notice was sent to American Airlines by the TWU-IAM Association
July 19, 2024 - The Members of the TWU/IAM Association Negotiating Committee met in Chicago last week. They also scheduled a Zoom meeting with American Airlines for this upcoming week.
Section 6 early openernegotiations are scheduled for August 13th and 14th at TWU Local 591 Headquarters in Grapevine Texas.
- early openers - are seven months before the current amendable date of the current contract.
August 29, 2024 - The Association met with American Airlines leadership this week to discuss the interest in a short-term economic only extension. There are future meetings set up in September to continue the dialogue between the parties to get closer to an understanding and an agreement.
September 20, 2024 - The Association has reached a Tentative
Agreement with American Airlines regarding the economic-only contract extension proposal.
The next step in the process is for Negotiation Committee members to schedule in-person meetings to provide the opportunity for members to ask questions and receive information prior to the ratification vote.
Details on the schedule and balloting process for ratification will be available once arrangements are finalized.

September 25, 2024 - The contract extension vote will be conducted by electronic voting through BallotPoint Election Services. Voting instructions and pin numbers will be
sent to each member’s home address on file with American Airlines, as well as via e-mail to their company email address.
Please make sure your mailing address is correct with American Airlines prior to October 5.
We anticipate that the vote will take place from October 27 – 31. The Association is still in the process of finalizing the exact timeline and further information will be forthcoming.
October 10, 2024 - Attached you will find links to the Extension Agreements for each of your respected classes for you to review before the vote. Please take the time to review your agreement so you can make an informed decision come time to vote. The voting window will be open from October 25 at noon central and will remain open until October 29 at noon central.

October 21, 2024 - Paper ballots were mailed out via USPS today, October 21, 2024.
The window for voting on your American Airlines Economic Extension will start on Friday October 25th, 2024 at 12:00 (noon) Central Time and will end on Tuesday October 29th, 2024 at 12:00 (noon) Central Time.
October 29, 2024 - The leadership of the TWU/IAM Association thanks everybody for the unity and participation in the 2024 JCBA Extension Ratification Vote.
The Association membership turned out in great numbers to express themselves and sound their voices for the economic contract extension proposal.
