Each year and shortly after steward elections, Local 568 conducts training for it's representatives. Heading the classes is Second Vice-President Mike Garcia, who brings a wealth of knowledge and experience to the stewards in topics such as the Railway Labor Act, Article 11 and the collective bargaining agreement, AA's attendance control (acp) and peak performance thru committment (ppc) policies, US Customs CFR's, the grievance proceedure, and much more. The stewards are given an opportunity to realize the importance of good representational skills and how it relates to the sucessful outcome of a case by participating in mock arbitrations. This years' training for MIA/FLL/TPA Stewards was intense and very informative. Feedback has been positive and we welcome your comments and suggestions. MIA/FLL training sessions were held at the union hall, and TPA training was held onsite in Tampa. We thank everyone for their imput and participation!
