The Honorable Joseph R. Biden, Jr.
United States Senate
Washington, DC 20510
Dear Senator Biden,
The purpose of this letter is to thank you for speaking at the first South Florida AFL-CIO’s “Working Families Vote 2008” town hall series last evening. As a labor leader, I was pleased to know that you are a sponsor of the Employee Free Choice Act, which restores workers freedom to form unions, a legislation that would empower, expand, and strengthen the middle class. The current republican administration has done much to erode the strengths of organized labor. Unions must educate and rally its membership and their families to use the power of the vote to reverse that erosion by supporting candidates who are favorable to the working families and middle class. I will direct my membership to your website, www.JOEBIDEN.com, so that they may learn of your position on this very important issue, as well as others such as health care, defined pensions, social security, and education of which you spoke during our meeting. Again, thank you for your time and your support of organized labor.
Respectfully, Tom Lee 1st VP TWU Local 568 cc: Alex Garcia Officers and Executive Board Fred Frost Field postings
