FMLA and Corrective Action
When a member has FMLA pending, there should be no corrective action on the member until the FMLA case is completed. AA is currently working on a communication to all Lost Time Administrators to clarify the issue and ensure that no corrective action is taken when an FMLA is pending.
AA/Aetna FMLA processing
When AA Medical receives a complicated FMLA application, they may use Aetna for a peer-to-peer review. When Aetna reviews this information, they have 14 days to review the information and return the results to AA Medical. There is a very small percentage of applications sent to Aetna.
